An 80-year prison sentence was given to Cleotha Abston on Friday morning for the 2021 kidnapping and rape of Alicia Franklin, according to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.
He was found guilty this April of aggravated rape and kidnapping, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Judge Lee Coffee issued 20 years for aggravated kidnapping, 40 years for aggravated rape, and 20 years for unlawful possession of a weapon.
It was agreed by Abston to serve those 80 years consecutively.
Abston was also the suspect responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Eliza Fletcher on September 2, 2022.
For that, he was also charged with aggravated kidnapping and murder.
