LOCAL | Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued For Most Of West Tennessee Counties

West Tennessee is under severe thunderstorm warnings, some until the early afternoon and some throughout most of the day.

For Shelby, Tipton, Crittenden, Mississippi, and Cross Counties, the severe thunderstorm warnings are expected to last until right before 2 p.m.

It is classified as a level 2 out of 5 for strong storms both Wednesday and Thursday.

The storms are expected to bring winds up to 70 mph, two inch hail, and possibilities of tornadoes.

Mid-South counties that are in the severe thunderstorm warning lasting until 7 p.m. include Alcorn, Crittenden, Cross, DeSoto, Dyer, Fayette, Hardeman, Haywood, Lauderdale, Marshall, McNairy, Mississippi (AR), Poinsett, Shelby St. Francis, Tipton and Tunica. 

Storms are expected slow down after midnight with lows in the 60s.
