LOCAL | DA Mulroy Wants Suspected Interstate Shooter’s Bond Revoked.

Steve Mulroy, the district attorney for Shelby County, stated on Wednesday that he intends to lift Kendrick Ray’s bond. Ray is a suspect in the Tuesday interstate shooting that left a father and four children injured.

Ray was free on a $500 bond imposed by a judicial commissioner following an earlier arrest where it was claimed he was in possession of a handgun with a Glock switch that enabled the weapon to fire fully automatically, according to Mulroy, at the time of Tuesday’s incident on I-240.

Although his case was considered for potential federal prosecution, it was turned down. Mulroy said he was scheduled to make a guilty plea on July 23.

Police claim that Kendrick Ray and another suspect fired several bullets at five victims while on I-240 during rush hour.

Ray faced charges of attempting first-degree murder (6X), using a firearm while committing a dangerous felony (6X), eluding capture on foot, and stealing a motor vehicle valued between $10,000 and $60,000.

Additionally, Ray was wanted for carjacking (2X), reckless endangerment (3X), attempted first-degree murder (3X), and using a firearm while committing a dangerous felony (3X).
