NATIONAL | Trump Selects J.D. Vance As His 2024 Running Mate

Senator JD Vance has been selected by former President Trump to be his running mate in the 2024 Presidential election.

Born and raised in Ohio, Vance attended Yale Law School and joined the Marines.

In 2022, during his first campaign for political office, Vance was elected to the Senate and has grown into a big name in the Conservative movement in recent years.

“After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio and North Dakotra Governor Doug Burgum were notified by Trump on Monday that they would not be joining him on the ticket, leaving Vance and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott as the presumptive picks.

The choice of Vance also occurs at a pivotal juncture in the election, a few days after Trump almost died while speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when he was shot in the ear in an assassination attempt.
