Several hundreds of Memphis employees at International Paper are expected to be laid off. Several other hundreds based in other cities will be laid off as well, the majority coming from Memphis.
Around 400 workers from Memphis will be among the about 650 workers that will be let go.
According to the spokesman, laid-off workers will receive mental health services, outplacement support, and severance compensation.
