Over the weekend, medical student Ellie Young was shot during the Breast Cancer Walk at Shelby Farms Park.
Young’s ex-boyfriend Jackson Hopper, 26, has been accused with her murder. He appeared before a judge on Monday and is currently being jailed without bond.
“Due to the severity of this case, our office has requested that no bond be granted pending a hearing,” District Attorney Steve Mulroy said in a statement.
Officials claim he led law officers on a multi-county chase before crashing in Dyer County after the incident.
Police had to conduct a pit maneuver on Hopper as he drove recklessly, even driving head on into traffic.
