Months after the second ouster case that could remove Shelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert, more information was requested by Circuit Court Judge Felicia Corbin-Johnson. Halbert’s attorney wants the case thrown out claiming that special outside council cannot oversee the ouster. Shelby County hired Attorney Robert Myers to handle the ouster and says that hiring special outside council is routine. Shelby County Attorney Marlinee Iverson argues that there is a conflict of interest since she has advised Halbert on removal proceedings in the past.
Circuit Court Judge Felicia Corbin-Johnson has not set a date for another hearing in the case.
