Following gunfire near the University of Memphis campus on Friday morning, a temporary “shelter in place” order was issued.
According to a university official, the gunfire was caused by a suspected road rage incident, although no injuries were recorded.
Students were notified via email at 5:30 a.m. that there had been a shooting and that police were looking into the matter.
While one individual was arrested, another fled the area on foot. Since then, the shelter-in-place has been lifted.
