Memphis Police reported Wednesday night that an accident on Walnut Grove in Shelby Farms had claimed one life.
The wreck occurred around 4 p.m. as Memphians began to get off of work.
Walnut Grove’s westbound lanes were blocked near Farm Road, resulting in a significant backlog during a wet rush hour. It had been pouring rain most of Wednesday morning and afternoon.
According to police, two cars were involved in the collision. They found a man who was hurt and after being transported to Regional One, he was declared deceased.
