Fire investigators say a Memphis Police squad car was purposefully set on fire in front of the downtown station on Monday night.
Officers reported that just before 9 p.m., a civilian called to report that a squad car on the lot of the police station at 444 Main Street was on fire while they were walking by.
Memphis Fire quickly moved to take out the flames.
Fire investigators concluded that someone had purposefully put an accelerant close to the rear of the car, causing it to catch on fire.
As of right now, no suspicious information is accessible.
