A man is in jail after a carjacking, kidnapping of a 14 year old, and holding him for ransom at a gas station on Sunday.
24-year-old Cordarius Johnson faces charges of aggravated robbery, carjacking, especially aggravated kidnapping, assault on a first responder, and resisting arrest.
Police observed video recordings in which the carjacking and abduction occurred at a Valero gas station on South Highland Street.
The victim claims that the suspects stole his cell phone and $600 from him.
The mother of the ransom victim reported that shortly afterward, she received a video call from the 14-year-old, who had an AR-15 firearm barrel aimed at his head. The suspects were asking for $1,000 in cash to return the boy.
Johnson was arrested, however, the other suspects ran away.
He has a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday morning, and there is no information on his bond at this time.
