After a TBI Special Agent investigation, six West Tennessee law enforcement officials are being charged for being too aggressive in an arrest last Fall.
Jackson Hopper’s arrest in October 2024 sparked an investigation by the TBI into the circumstances surrounding claims of excessive force.
Hopper was charged in the murder of his ex-girlfriend Ellie Young at the Visitor Center parking lot at Shelby Farms, which sparked the police chase and arrest.

Six law enforcement officials were charged with official misconduct, official oppression, assault, and tampering with evidence in indictments handed by the Dyer County Grand Jury on February 10.
All six were booked into the Dyer County jail, and later all released on a $25,000 bond.
