LOCAL | Man Charged After Decade-Long Murder Investigation Of An Army Sergeant

After a decade, a man has been arrested for the murder of Army Sgt. Calvin Wilhite Jr.

In May 2015, law enforcement officials attended to a shooting that occurred at the intersection of South Fourth Street and Dr. MLK Jr. Avenue, close to the FedEx Forum.

Authorities announced that 33-year-old Timothy Davis was identified as the man responsible for the murder.

Following a dispute that intensified into gunfire, Wilhite was shot three times by Davis. At the hospital, he was declared dead.

Davis faced charges of second-degree murder and has been given a bond of $250,000.
