On Tuesday, a Missouri woman entered a guilty plea to a federal charge that she devised a scheme to scam Elvis Presley’s family by attempting to auction off his Graceland estate and property.
Lisa Jeanine Findley inaccurately asserted that Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie, had borrowed $3.8 million from a fraudulent private lender and had offered Graceland as collateral for the loan.
She then issued a threat to sell Graceland to the highest bidder if Presley’s family did not pay a $2.85 million settlement.
A fraudulent foreclosure notice was published by Findley in a Memphis newspaper, asserting that Graceland would be auctioned in May 2024.
Her sentencing is scheduled for June 19.
