A $45,000 theft from a nonprofit in Crosstown Concourse on Tuesday is being investigated by police.
They were called to a False Pretenses/Swindle/Confidence Game at Memphis Teachers Residency on Tuesday.
According to the complainant, who works for the non-profit, she got an email from an unidentified person last December asking for money for consulting work
During an audit in February, the complainant discovered that the payment had been stolen after transferring it to the mysterious suspect.
The investigation is still ongoing.
