Approval of a new school opening is on the agenda of a special meeting scheduled on Monday afternoon by the University of Memphis Board of Trustees.
Property on Kimball Avenue is being given to the University of Memphis so that a public elementary school can be established. Right now, it stands as a privately owned school.
Beginning with the upcoming academic year, university schools would run “Campus School Kimball” as an elementary school for students in grades K-5, if it gets approved.
For 2025-2026, around 120 students will be enrolled. The option to stay enrolled will be offered to current students.
