On Monday, one of the suspects in the 2021 murder and home invasion of a Rhodes College student entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to prison.
40-year-old Rainess Holmes was given a 20-year prison sentence in addition to a total of nine years in prison for three different burglary charges.

Early on October 3, 2021, Holmes was one of four men who broke into a Memphis home that housed several college students, including senior Andrew “Drew” Rainer, who was 22-years-old at the time.
The four men with sweatshirts pulled over their faces kicked in their door and demanded electronics, according to the survivors.
The only individual charged in connection with the fatal shooting is Holmes.
A reward of $10,000 still stands for anyone that can give information that leads to the arrest of the other three suspects.
