This week, the City of Hernando, Mississippi revealed that brand new YMCA will soon be opening on McIngvale Road.
Plans for the new facility, which will have indoor and outdoor pools and a lazy river, were released by the YMCA of Memphis and the Mid-South.
The construction of the new YMCA within the Delta Landing development is anticipated to begin in the fall of this year. The expectation is that it will be completed at some point in May 2027.
It will be located just across from the new Hernando High School, which will open in the fall.
According to the City of Hernando, the Maddox Foundation is contributing $30 million, the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi is contributing $2 million, and Sky Lake Construction LLC is contributing a donation to the project.
